Job Title: Ventilation and Occupational Hygiene Superintendent - Mining - Northern Cape

Location: Northern Cape, South Africa

The Ventilation and Occupational Hygiene Superintendent will be responsible for ensuring that all ventilation and occupational hygiene standards are adhered to within the mining operation in the Northern Cape. The successful candidate will oversee the implementation of ventilation systems, monitor air quality, and provide guidance on occupational health and safety matters.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement and verify operational control that would ensure compliance to Fatal Risk Control Standards
• Managing staff
• Managing Mine Ventilation planning
• Conducting Workplace inspections
• Investigations to identify root causes withing business processes
• Developing systemic solutions to eliminate reoccurrence

 

Requirements:

• Grade 12
• Mine Environmental Control Certificate
• National Diploma in Environmental Health
• 5 years ‘experience in managing Occupational Health and Hygiene Program and Ventilation of an underground mine
• 2 years supervisory experience and 12.1 Legal Appointee
• Extensive experience in an underground Trackless Mine
• Sound experience using VUMA and / or VENTSIM

Benefits:

• Salary: R1.6m – R1.8m CTC
