Role Summary
The role of the Group Leader is to manage production in the basic Mono and THC plants, by ensuring full health and safety compliance, on time manufacturing by proper scheduling of the two plants and available resources, whilst also focusing on continuous improvement through available platforms such as Line PPS and 8D PPS projects.
Accountabilities
Position Accountabilities:
Implementation & support of safety standards and supervision of safe practices.
Ensure on time manufacturing by proper scheduling of available resources between both plants.
Facilitate employee training and development as required.
Conduct Practical Problem Solving (PPS) projects to solve plant problems & promote continuous improvement within all aspects of the plant and processes.
Role Accountabilities:
Demonstrate behaviours in line with company CORE Values
Contribute to a safe and healthy work environment.
Report risks and opportunities for improvement related to duties. Ensure that the plant focuses on customer requirements and that cross functional cooperation with Sales & Marketing, quality & supply chain is maintained.
Responsibilities
Position Responsibilities:
Oversee the work of operators, providing guidance and mentorship as needed.
Ensure that all work is carried out in compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
Ensure proper scheduling of production between two plants with available resources, clearly communicating production plan with employees and relevant stakeholders.
Develop and implement quality control procedures.
Coordinate with other departments and personnel to ensure smooth production manufacturing execution and on time delivery.
Monitor production progress and timelines, adjusting as necessary to keep deliveries on track.
Developing our teams’ problem-solving capabilities through PPS implementation.
Satisfying Group and external Quality System requirements
Contributing to Product / Process Development through production and local conditions knowledge and optimization
Elimination of waste throughout the entire production processes, with a strong focus on the biggest cost (raw material) to prevent unnecessary losses.
Monthly stock takes and reconciliation of stock figures.
Prompt investigation of stock variances
Key Accountability:
Maintain safe and clean work environment by educating and directing employees on the use of all tools, equipment, and resources; ensure compliance with established policies, procedures, and established improvement programs.
Process and production improvements through detailed analysis and best practice recommendations.
Accurate and up to date manufacturing standard and costing of all products manufactured in plant.
To co-ordinate activities to ensure that the customer receives the correct product, conforming to specified quality on time.
Ensure effective use of all plant resources, including Raw Material control (Variance), Employee attendance and Process optimization.
Solve all Product and Process problems through employee coordination and PPS projects.
Daily, weekly, and monthly production and quality data captured accurately.
To ensure regular update of production procedures, SWI’s and production plans.

Candidate Requirements
QualificationsNational Diploma or B-Tech in Industrial Engineering or Production Management.
Minimum 3 – 4 years Supervisory experience in manufacturing environment
