Our client, a reputable multi-disciplinary engineering firm, is currently engaged in an exciting Greenfields project in Limpopo and is seeking a skilled Yard Foreman / Materials Controller for a 10-month contract.Our client excels in providing innovative turnkey solutions within the mineral processing sector. You'll collaborate with industry experts in a company dedicated to safety, compliance, and cutting-edge engineering practices.

Qualifications and Experience Needed

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
• Extensive knowledge of material handling, inventory management, and safety protocols
• Understanding of the logistics and operational demands of large-scale mining projects
• Proficient in computer usage
• Fluency in English and/or Afrikaans
• Excellent communication skills
• Valid driver's license and own transport
• Willingness to work weekends and overtime when required

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage yard activities, including the receipt, storage, and dispatch of materials and equipment
• Ensure proper handling and organization of construction materials, tools, and machinery
• Maintain inventory control, track stock levels, and report on material requirements
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations in all yard activities
• Maintain yard cleanliness and organization to ensure a safe working environment
• Assist with loading and unloading activities in the laydown area
• Liaise with project managers, procurement, and other departments to ensure timely delivery and availability of materials
• Oversee equipment maintenance and ensure the readiness of yard machinery
• Troubleshoot and resolve logistics, inventory, and equipment-related issues promptly
• Provide regular reports on yard operations, safety performance, and material status
