Candidate Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS – QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field, such as: Law (LLB or related legal qualification), Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Risk Management, Economics, Compliance and Governance.
• Postgraduate Studies (Optional but Beneficial): Postgraduate diploma or certification in Compliance Management, Risk Management, or Financial Planning. Recognized certifications in compliance or risk management from accredited institutions (e.g., CISA, Compliance Institute of South Africa certifications).
• At least 1 year of experience in a compliance-related role (internships or entry-level roles are often acceptable).
• Familiarity with FSCA regulations and South African financial services laws (e.g., FAIS, FICA, POPIA).

COMPLIANCE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Compliance Duty

• Outsourced compliance function delivered to financial services clients. 
• Fulfil compliance function required in terms of FAIS, FICA, and other applicable legislation and business requirements.
• Establish a culture of compliance and provide a compliance risk framework to clients.
• Assist clients to achieve TCF outcomes. Assist in the implementation and monitoring of compliance programs for corporate clients.
• Conduct compliance assessments, gap analyses, and risk identification.
• Prepare compliance documentation, including policies, procedures, and reports.
• Stay updated with FSCA regulatory changes and communicate key updates to clients.
• Support the development of remedial action plans for non-compliance findings.
• Collaborate with senior consultants to provide tailored compliance solutions.
• Maintain and manage accurate records and compliance registers.
• Assist with training sessions and awareness programs for clients.
• Sourcing and signing up new clients.

Quality of Work

• Perform all functions to the standard and deadlines set by Regional Manager.
• Provide clients with high-quality, personalized, and substantive reports.
• Include clients in compliance processes and provide post-monitoring feedback.
• Maintain records as required by the business.

• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and compliance principles in South Africa.
• Proficiency in industry tools and systems for compliance monitoring and reporting.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt in a regulatory environment.
• Display behaviour and attitudes that positively contributes to the well-being and development of the regional team, the company, and its clients.
