The successful applicant will be based in KZN and will be required to service and train existing customers and assist in the growth of the business in his/her area. and the successful applicant should also be fluent in English and Afrikaans. The applicant will report directly to the KZN Sales Manager.
Job Opportunity: Sales Representative with Chemical Industry Experience

We are seeking an experienced Sales Representative to join our team and contribute to the company's growth by identifying opportunities, building strong relationships, and providing top-notch customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales and Customer Engagement
- Promote the company’s vision and mission statement.
- Generate sales leads and establish sales contacts, including cold calling.
- Assess customer needs and conduct sales pitches and presentations.
- Provide accurate and timely pricing to prospective clients.
- Close sales and ensure all necessary credit applications and customer detail forms are completed and signed by the appropriate parties.
- Perform product demonstrations when required.
- Maintain regular visits to current key customers and assess future needs.
- Update customers on new products, specials, and pricing.
Data Management and Reporting
- Keep detailed analytical data on key accounts and monitor trends.
- Translate data into actionable insights and provide management information to colleagues.
- Compile and submit weekly plans and proposal requirements for approval.
- Analyse and report on sales performance against budget and trends in the market.
- Familiarize yourself with the company’s and competitors’ products, pricing, and processes, and share findings with management.
Team Collaboration and Leadership
- Receive, run, and analyse monthly sales reports and customer record card data from Sage, ensuring accurate distribution to the team.
- Ensure the team complies with ISO procedures and internal sales planning/reporting protocols.
- Manage the sales team in alignment with company procedures and provide necessary feedback.
Customer Service and Relationship Building
- Build and nurture relationships with key decision-makers among clients.
- Ensure service reports are completed and signed by customers.
- Address customer discrepancies, identify opportunities, and recommend proactive solutions.
- Maintain accurate and updated customer details in the system.
Additional Duties
- Stay informed about market trends and competitor activities.
- Contribute to inter-departmental communication to ensure smooth business processes.
- Take on duties outside the norm of the position when required.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience in sales, particularly in chemical-related industries.
- Strong understanding of chemical products and their applications.
- Exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in using sales tools, data management systems (e.g., Sage), and reporting.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (preferred but not mandatory).

Qualifications and Experience:
- Must have existing sales experience of a minimum of 3 years, and proof of traceable new business achievements.
- Grade 12 or Relevant tertiary qualification advantageous.
- Must have proven oneself in excelling at sales vs budget history.
- have an above average knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams.
- have excellent communication skills for personal interaction at high negotiating levels.
- Able to speak confidently in public.
- have good administration skills and be trustingly independent.
- Have a valid driver license.
- have your own reliable vehicle. No company vehicle will be offered.
- be presentable and fluent in English and Afrikaans.
