- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in financial management, ideally within an educational institution.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience with accounting principles and practices.
- Knowledge of GAAP is a plus.
- Strong proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity, discretion, and confidentiality.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Fluent in English and at least one additional language.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Management: Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting. Ensure adherence to relevant regulations and policies.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable: Manage accounts payable functions, including vendor payments, invoicing, and reconciliations. Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Payroll Administration: Coordinate payroll processing, ensuring accuracy in salary calculations, deductions, and statutory contributions. Ensure timely and precise payroll payments.
- Procurement: Oversee the procurement process, including sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and purchasing goods and services in line with school policies and procedures.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare financial reports and statements for internal and external stakeholders, including the school management team, board of governors, and regulatory bodies.
- Auditing and Compliance: Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Implement any necessary improvements based on audit recommendations.
- Asset Management: Manage the school's fixed asset register, including the acquisition, depreciation, and disposal of assets. Conduct periodic asset audits to maintain accuracy and compliance.
