SPATIAL PLANNING AND ENVIRONMENT: DEVELOPMENT MANAGEMENT

CHIEF PLANS EXAMINER

TCOE SALARY COMMENCING FROM R1,005,233 PER ANNUM ● REF NO: SPE 61/24 ● VARIOUS POSSIBLE AREAS

Requirements:   

• A relevant three-year tertiary qualification (National Diploma) in any built environment discipline
• A minimum of five (5) years’ appropriate experience with three (3) years technical supervisory experience at an appropriate level 
• Knowledge and implementation of the National Building Regulations and the South African National Standards requirements
• Computer literacy: MS Office
• Code B/EB driver's licence. 

Key performance areas:  

• Manage the processing of building development applications
• Ensure that building development applications comply with all National Building Regulations and Standards as well as all applicable legislation and the approved tariff structure
• Liaise with external and internal parties regarding building development applications
• Supervise subordinate staff regarding the technical requirements of building plan submissions
• Administer and coordinate the building development assessment process.
