My client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Technologist to join their team. The successful candidate will work for a company specializing in energy efficiency, renewable energy solutions, and energy audits.

This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, energy management, and renewable energy technologies.

The Electrical Technologist will be responsible for interpreting, implementing, and maintaining energy-efficient solutions, conducting energy audits, and ensuring compliance with South African legislation and the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Energy Efficiency Solutions:
  
  
  
  • Interpret and implement energy-efficient electrical systems and solutions for residential, commercial, and industrial clients.
  
  
  • Conduct energy audits to identify areas for improvement and recommend energy-saving measures.
  
  
  • Develop and present technical proposals and reports to clients.
  
  
  
  


• Renewable Energy Solutions:
  
  
  
  • Interpret and implement renewable energy solutions, including solar PV systems and battery storage systems.
  
  
  • Ensure the integration of renewable energy systems with existing electrical infrastructure.
  
  
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for renewable energy installations.
  
  
  
  


• Energy Audits:
  
  
  
  • Conduct comprehensive energy audits to assess the energy consumption and efficiency of buildings and facilities.
  
  
  • Identify and recommend energy-saving opportunities and technologies.
  
  
  • Prepare detailed audit reports and present findings to clients.
  
  
  
  


• Project Management:
  
  
  
  • Manage projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  
  
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure project requirements are met.
  
  
  • Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary to meet deadlines and quality standards.
  
  
  
  


• Compliance and Standards:
  
  
  
  • Ensure all work complies with South African legislation, including the Electrical Installation Regulations and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  
  
  • Adhere to the standards and guidelines set by the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA).
  
  
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  
  
  
  


• Technical Support and Training:
  
  
  
  • Provide technical support and training to clients and internal teams on energy-efficient practices and renewable energy technologies.
  
  
  • Assist clients in understanding and implementing energy management strategies.
  
  
  
  

Qualifications:

• Education:
  
  
  
  • BTech in Electrical Engineering.
  
  
  • Registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Professional Engineering Technologist (Pr.Tech Eng). Or GCC
  
  
  
  


• Experience:
  
  
  
  • Proven experience in electrical engineering technology, with a focus on energy efficiencies and renewable energy solutions.
  
  
  • Experience in conducting energy audits and implementing energy-saving measures.
  
  
  • Experience in project management and client relations.
  
  
  
  


• Skills:
  
  
  
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, energy management, and renewable energy technologies.
  
  
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  
  
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools, such as AutoCAD, energy modeling software, and project management software.
