We are looking for an ambitious accountant/bookkeeper who is seeking to build their career within the InsurTech industry.
The Finance Team Leader will support the Financial Manager in overseeing all financial transactions including co-ordinating the finance team in their daily tasks. The ideal candidate will ensure the accurate and timely accounting of financial transactions while playing a role in Reporting & Forecasting the financial performance of the company.
Responsibilities:
- Weekly & Monthly revenue billing
- Management of debtors book
- Full bank reconciliations
- Receivables & Payables account reconciliations
- Daily & weekly payment remittance submissions to FM
- Relationship management with client's payment teams
- Support in efficient integration of operations & finance team tasks
- Assist in managing the performance of the finance team, ensuring productivity and compliance with team objectives.
- Review adequacy of internal financial controls and the application thereof across the finance activities of the team
- Analyse variances between budgeted and actual financial performance, identifying key trends and insights
Required Skills
- Accounting: 1 to 2 years
- Bookkeeping: 1 to 2 years
- Microsoft Excel: 2 to 3 years
Candidate Requirements
Qualifying criteria:
- NQF level 5 and higher in finance, economics, business administration or similar specialisation;
- 2 years or more of relevant accounting and financial reporting experience (FinTech industry experience an advantage)
- Strong skills in accounting software (Xero is an advantage) with advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, solution driven, highly organized and detail-orientated with good decision making and time management skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with various stakeholders at different levels.
