Position Overview Are you a recent graduate with a passion for finance? We are looking for an Assistant to the Financial Manager to join our dynamic team! Ideal for candidates with 1 year of relevant experience, eager to grow in financial management within a construction environment.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field

1 year of finance-related experience (internships included)

Strong analytical skills & attention to detail

Proficiency in Microsoft Office & financial software (SAGE or Pastel advantageous)

Excellent communication & interpersonal skills

Key Responsibilities (include but not limited to)

Assist in processing and reconciling invoices and payments

Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable and receivable

Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports

Assist with bank reconciliations and cash flow management

Support the month-end closing process and prepare necessary reports for management

Help monitor and reconcile general ledger entries

Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax filings, and company policies

Assist in managing supplier and client relationships, including addressing queries and resolving issues

Contribute to the implementation of process improvements in financial operations

Perform ad-hoc accounting tasks as needed, including assisting with audits and tax returns
