Candidate Requirements

• Qualifications:
• Minimum N5 Level AND Certified Millwright (Red Seal) with Trade Test qualification.
• Additional Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification would be highly advantageous.
• Additional qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety will be advantageous.
• Experience:
• 5+ years in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment, ideally with supervisory experience.
• Demonstrated experience in machinery maintenance, both electrically and mechanically.
• GMR 2.1 representative experience would be advantageous.
• Experience in plastic manufacturing (extrusion and injection moulding) would be advantageous
• Proficiency or qualifications with fitting and turning would be advantageous.

·         Skills:

• Ability to interpret (and ideally create) electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Strong technical expertise in machinery operation and repairs with strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Self-motivated with strong communication and leadership skills.
• High attention to detail and organizational/admin skills.
• Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft office.
• Willing to work irregular hours, including some weekends, stand-by and callouts when required
• Knowledge of the following would be advantageous:
• Plastic material processing equipment such as extruders, injection moulders, mixers, granulators, pulverisers as well as chillers, air compressors, various 380V/400V equipment.
• VSD’s, PLC's, HMI’s, AC/DC Motors and various electrical component fault finding and installation.
• Hydraulics and pneumatics
• Water/Vacuum Pump/Mechanical seal and motor maintenance (bearing and changes etc)
