A vacancy exists for a Business Manager - International within the Kazang – Micro Merchant Division, International, in Century City, Cape Town.
The Business Manager will act as the bridge between our business objectives and the technical execution of our product solutions. You will be responsible for the Product strategy, product development understanding market needs, defining product requirements, and working closely with cross-functional teams to drive the development, launch, and continuous improvement of our products.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Business Strategy & Leadership:
- Develop and communicate a clear business vision and strategy that aligns with the company’s business goals.
- Create business cases that support growth aspirations.
- Identify and drive new revenue channels or opportunities.
- Influence teams to deliver results.
- Drive stakeholder engagement across relevant functions to ensure a one-business mindset.
- Drive positive business values, and a unified and fun culture.
Business Management and Execution:
- Drive revenue and profit growth.
- Develop full scoping and business cases for product development.
- Conduct research and prioritize according to business needs.

- Apply creative solutions to solve business challenges.

Product Strategy & Vision:
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including developers, designers, and marketing teams, to guide the product development process from concept to launch.
- Write detailed product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Oversee product lifecycle, including planning, development, release, and optimization phases.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication:
- Act as the main point of contact between business units and the development team.
- Communicate product updates, changes, and progress to stakeholders effectively.
- Gather and integrate feedback from customers, sales teams, and other stakeholders to refine product offerings.
Data Analysis & Performance Monitoring:
- Set KPIs and use data analytics to track product performance and user engagement.
- Use insights from data to drive product enhancements and iterations.
- Prepare reports and presentations on product performance, including recommendations for improvement.
Marketing Positioning & Go-to-Market (GTM) Strategy:
- Collaborate with the marketing team to define product positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategies.
- Ensure successful product launches by coordinating with sales, support, and marketing teams.
In order to be considered for this position, the following requirements must be met:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3-5 years experience in product management, business analysis, or a similar role.
- Proven experience in managing the entire product lifecycle.
- Previous working experience as a Product Owner and/or Business Manager.
- Strong experience in managing the entire product lifecycle.
- Strong understanding of market research, user experience, and product development processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data-driven decision-making.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies is a plus.
Technical Competencies:
Understanding of Business Management:
- A solid understanding of the Main or Informal Market Customer and Consumer base.
- Strong understanding of the VAS and Card Acquiring Operations.
- Experience in growing business revenue.
- Ability to drive Customer Acquisitions and Retention.
- A good ability to put together Business Cases.
- Ability to Project Manage from ideation to launch to post-launch analysis.
- Great at Customer Relationship Management.
- A decent undemanding of P&L.
Business Strategy:
- Ability to distil key components of a business strategy.
- A good ability to articulate business strategy and the required outcomes.
- A strong bias to driving execution on time if full.
- Proficiency in Market research.

Understanding of Software Development Processes:

- Experience working closely with software development teams, and understanding coding languages (e.g. JavaScript, Python, SQL) is a plus but not mandatory.
- Ability to write clear user stories, define technical requirements, and create acceptance criteria.
Data Analysis & Technical Analytics Tools:
- Proficiency in using data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Google Analytics, Tableau) to gather insights and make data-driven decisions.
- Experience in A/B testing, user behaviour analysis, and performance monitoring.
- Understanding of data structures, APIs, and how to leverage data for product optimization.
Product Development Lifecycle Management:
- Experience managing the entire product development lifecycle from ideation to launch and post-launch improvements.
- Ability to prioritize technical tasks, and manage backlogs, with development teams to ensure timely delivery.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and issue-tracking software (e.g., Jira, Trello).
Technical Documentation & Communication:
- Ability to create technical documentation, including product specifications, flow diagrams, and feature guides.
- Strong communication skills to effectively bridge the gap between technical teams (developers, engineers) and non-technical stakeholders (marketing, sales, leadership).
- Experience in explaining complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
System Integration & API Management:
- Knowledge of system architecture, databases, and API integrations.
- Experience in working on projects that involve integrating third-party services or platforms.
- Understanding how to design products that scale effectively and maintain technical performance.
User Experience (UX) Design Principles :
- Basic knowledge of UX/UI design concepts and tools (e.g., Figma. Sketch, Adobe XD).
- Experience collaborating with design teams to create user-friendly and intuitive products. Ability to understand and translate user feedback into actional design improvements.
