The Senior Lecturer and Programme Coordinator for Traffic and Metropolitan Policing will lead the strategic design, delivery, and management of academic programmes in this field. This role encompasses teaching, curriculum development, research, and faculty administration while supporting the institution's vision for high-quality education in policing and road safety. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in policing education and management, with a strong commitment to innovation and continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: Master’s degree in Policing or a related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3–5 years in lecturing within higher education, focusing on Traffic or Metropolitan Policing.
A background in policing, traffic management, or a related agency (e.g., Road Traffic Management Corporation) is advantageous
Key Responsibilities:
- Programme Coordination
- Lead academic coordination of postgraduate and diploma programmes in Traffic and Metropolitan Policing.
- Ensure academic coherence and adherence to quality assurance processes, including assessment reviews and study guide updates.
- Facilitate regular programme reviews for continuous improvement and industry alignment.
- Teaching and Learning Support
- Deliver lectures and workshops, employing diverse teaching methodologies.
- Develop and update course content in alignment with industry standards.
- Provide academic guidance and mentoring for students, fostering a supportive learning environment.
- Academic Governance and Faculty Management
- Contribute to institutional policy development and strategic planning.
- Serve on academic committees and represent the institution at events.
- Act as Head of Faculty during their absence and oversee administrative tasks.
- Academic Content Development
- Develop course materials reflecting current trends and best practices in policing and road safety.
- Integrate technology and multimedia tools into content delivery.
- Research
- Conduct research to enhance programme relevance and integrate findings into the curriculum.
- Publish scholarly work and participate in academic conferences.
- General Academic Administration
- Manage administrative tasks, including student registration and graduation processes.
- Maintain accurate records and support faculty operational goals.
- Staff Training and Development
- Identify training needs and implement development programmes for faculty staff.
