About The Position
The role is established in the I&T Governance & Service Transition team of the VKB Information and Technology department. The I&T Governance Analyst will report directly to the Head of I&T Governance & Service Transition.

The I&T Governance Analyst will be responsible to work with the I&T Team and coordinate the delivery of remediation plans needed to mitigate risks, in partnership with the control and process owners, both in I&T and projects, to assist I&T control owners in the design and implementation of controls, and in producing control evidence for audits. The role is also responsible for monitoring compliance to I&T policies, execution of third-party risk and due diligence assessments, monitoring I&T disaster recovery plans and their alignment with the VKB's business continuity plans, working with risk management and internal audit teams to monitor I&T internal control system and assisting with Information Security Awareness and training initiatives.

Requirements

• Applicable Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Studies, Risk Management or related field (combination of IT and Commerce subjects will be preferred). If a Bachelor’s degree has not been completed, but the candidate has practical work experience and are working towards a Bachelor’s degree – it will be considered.

• Relevant industry certifications (preferred); for example:

  • Passed Certified Information System Auditor (CISA) exam (or working towards certification).
  • Passed Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRIC) exam (or working towards certification).
  • ITIL Foundation / COBIT Foundation.

• At least one year of experience within the agricultural industry and/or IT Governance Risk and Compliance and/or Information Systems Audit.
• Experience with GRC methodologies, tools, and enablers is preferred.
• Hands-on experience with implementation and monitoring of controls; ideally aligned to one or more industry frameworks (COBIT, ITIL, ISO, PRINCE II, etc.).
  

Under the direct supervision and guidance of the Head of I&T Governance & Service Transition, the incumbent:

• Participate in the implementation and maintenance of I&T governance frameworks aligned with international good practices and adapted to VKB’s specific needs.
• Participate in the coordination of the day-to-day delivery of I&T governance and control initiatives, in alignment with overall VKB approaches and plans.
• As IT Governance and Information System Audit subject matter professional, participate in the coordination of the delivery of remediation plans needed to mitigate risks, in partnership with control and process owners, both in IT operations and projects.
• Implements processes, procedures, and tools to measure adherence to I&T controls in place.
• Assist I&T control owners in the design and implementation of controls, and in producing control evidence for audits.
• Undertakes and/or coordinates reviews or audits as necessary.
• Conducts ad hoc information system reviews in alignment with international standards and frameworks customised for VKB.
• Identifies opportunities for I&T process improvement through simplification and standardization.
• Provides support to other activities within or outside the team as needed.

• Solid understanding of I&T Governance, Risk Management and Compliance (GRC) Frameworks.
• Understanding of security risks and the required preventative controls.
• Excellent understanding of I&T operational processes and controls including projects.
• Knowledge of the I&T frameworks and best practices.
• Understanding of Regulatory requirements relatively to the I&T environment (PCI DSS, POPIA, GDPR)
• The ability to be persuasive and be able to communicate GRC related concepts to staff.
• Ability to map business needs to technology solutions.
• Must have excellent corporate governance principles.
• Thorough understanding of technical elements.
