Our client is looking for an Employment Relations Specialist to join their team. The Employment Relations Specialist will be responsible formanaging and maintaining positive employee relations, ensuringcompliance with labour laws and regulations, and handling all employment relations issues within the company.
Responsibilities include the following:
• Serve as a primary point of contact for employee relations issues, including grievances, disciplinary actions and poor performance management
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with employees at all levels of the Company
• Draft employment contracts and other contractual documentation
• Assist in the development, implementation, and communication of HR policies and procedures
• Ensure compliance with labour laws and regulations, including certain international employment laws and processes
• Providing advice and support to management on employment relations issues
• Conduct Employee Relations (ER) training for the company
• Ensure effective tracking of all ER cases
• Reporting on ER cases; identify trends and risks, share insights and propose solutions
• Perform other ad hoc general legal tasks as required
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor of Laws (LLB)
• Qualified attorney (6 months - 2 years post-qualified experience
(PQE) in the employment department)
OR
• An advanced HR Degree (e.g., Honours in Labour Relations)
• 2-5 years of experience in employment relations or a related field
SKILL SET AND DESIRED COMPETENCIES
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong knowledge of labour laws and regulations
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Ability to work in an unstructured environment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
