Pure Legacy (Pty) Ltd, located in Southern Paarl, is seeking a proactive and dynamic individual to fill the role of Head of Pome: Apples and Pears, to become part of their expanding team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement and sourcing of high-quality apples and pears in the ideal quantities.

Essential skills for this position include strong interpersonal, organizational, commercial, and negotiation abilities. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is key to ensuring that the pome fruit category aligns with the company's financial and strategic goals.

Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to): *Strategic input to Top Management ensuring future business growth *Business development by expanding current markets and acquiring new clients *Establish worldwide distribution and negotiate contracts and deals *Budget and management of exports to ensure efficient/profitable operations *Identify equipment improvements, changes, and/or replacements thereof *Establish goals, direction, and vision while strategically planning all projects with the directors *Direct and coordinate the overall operations of the department *All other functions related to this position.

Essential qualifications, skills and experience:
• Matric required, and a relevant tertiary qualification will be advantageous;
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in a sourcing and procurement role, with a successful track record specifically in the pome fruit industry;
• Extensive knowledge of apples and pears;
• Excellent computer proficiency;
• Fully bilingual (Afrikaans and English).

Commencement date: January 2025 or as soon as possible.
