Key Responsibilities
- Quality Assurance Management:
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems (QMS) in compliance with industry standards (ISO 9001, EN ISO 9712, etc.).
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing quality and efficiency.
- Inspection and Certification:
- Supervise welding, coating, and NDT inspections, ensuring adherence to applicable standards and customer requirements.
- Conduct internal and external audits for compliance with quality standards and certifications.
- Team Leadership:
- Train and mentor quality control and inspection personnel on welding, NDT, and coating practices.
- Foster a culture of quality awareness and accountability throughout the organization.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Analyse and interpret inspection and test results, generating comprehensive reports.
- Manage records of certifications, inspection results, and corrective actions.
- Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations in all quality activities.
- Investigate and resolve quality-related issues, implementing corrective and preventive actions.
Qualifications and Certifications
Essential Certifications:
- Level 1 Welding Inspector (SAIW Diploma #8877).
- Senior (Level 2) Welding Inspector (SAIW Diploma #5147).
- Certified Magnetic Particle Inspector Level 1 (SANDE).
- NACE CIP Level 1 International Coating Inspector (Cert #55918).
- Qualified Level 2 Galvanizing Inspector (HDGASA).
- NACE CIP Level 2 International Coating Inspector (Cert #55918).
- Liquid Penetrant Testing Level 2 (Cert #23/0678/2 & 23/0683/1/PED, EN ISO 9712).
- Ultrasonic Testing Level 2 (Cert #23/0677/2 & 23/0684/1/PED, EN ISO 9712).
- Trade Tested or ND or BTech in engineering, re Mechanical / Electrical or Metallurgy
- Minimum of 10 years in quality management within the heavy manufacturing sector.
- Proven expertise in welding, coating, and NDT techniques.
