Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teachers Assistant to manage their lodge's children's program. This role is crucial in providing a safe, engaging, and educational environment for children during their stay as well as for management's children. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating exciting daily programs, running a homeschooling curriculum, and ensuring the overall safety and well-being of all children at the lodge.

- Develop and implement an entertaining and educational daily program for children, tailored to their age groups.
- Research and update activity programs regularly to keep them fresh and engaging.
- Coordinate with Reception to prepare for upcoming children's visits and ensure proper information is available.
- Engage with new children and promote the center's offerings enthusiastically.
- Collaborate with the chef to accommodate children's meals and dietary requirements.
- Work with the Head Ranger and Assistant Head Ranger for educational talks and activities.
- Communicate with parents regarding their children’s needs and program details.
- Host interactive evening activities for groups of five or more children.
- Oversee a homeschooling program aligned with the Impaq curriculum for children in Grades R-3.
- Maintain a structured daily routine that includes various learning activities.
- Be responsible for running the homeschooling program during the Bush School Teacher’s off days or absences.
- Ensure children’s safety and well-being at all times.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and secure environment for all children.
- Keep the center organized and well-maintained, liaising with housekeeping and maintenance as needed.
- Ensure a well-stocked first aid kit and be trained in first aid procedures.
- Manage emergency situations effectively and responsibly.
- Monitor outdoor safety, ensuring children wear hats and sunscreen, and have access to drinking water.
- Handle purchasing requests for supplies with appropriate authorization.
- Promote recycling and cost-saving measures within the center.
- Assist with lodge functions and events as required.
- Present the center during formal site inspections and maintain professional appearance and conduct.
- Previous experience working with children in a teaching or recreational capacity.
- Knowledge of early childhood education or relevant certifications (e.g., first aid).
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to engage and interact positively with children of various age groups.
- Flexibility to adapt to the needs of the children and the lodge environment.
- Enthusiastic and creative approach to planning activities.
