The successful candidate will report directly to the KwaZulu Natal Provincial Director and Federal ICT Manager.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing professional and effective ICT support to all users (federal and provincial office staff, as well as public representatives, where applicable), which may include:
- maintenance on all hardware and software
- management of the relevant ticketing system and resolving tickets accordingly
- set up of new users and devices
- troubleshooting and resolving user queries
- Installing, configuring, testing and maintaining the network, operating systems, applications, software and system management tools
- Assisting with the implementation, development, upgrade and support of all IT business applications, ensuring they meet business requirements, operational need and contribute to the efficient delivery of services
- Managing the provincial asset register and sourcing relevant quotes
- Assisting with the setup and ICT support at events and meetings, at locations across the Province
Prospective applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Relevant qualification (certificate/diploma)
- 2 years’ experience in an ICT support role
- Experience in:
- Microsoft Office software packages and support
- Windows Operating Systems which include issue repairs and installation
- Network setups and issue resolution
- Desktop/laptop hardware troubleshooting and issue resolution
- Basic to intermediate knowledge relating to computer hardware systems, chipsets memory modules and peripherals
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of networking
- Proficiency in more than one language advantageous
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organisational and administrative abilities
- Systematic, comprehensive, and displaying excellent attention to detail
- An ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines
- An ability to work effectively and energetically around a demanding work schedule
- Commitment to the principles, policies, and program of action of the Democratic Alliance
- Outcomes-orientated, not simply task-orientated
- Willingness to go the extra mile, which include working long and irregular hours, weekends, and public holidays where necessary
- Applicants MUST be in possession of a valid driver’s licence, have access to an insured vehicle for occasional use and must be willing to travel within the province
