Cost and Management Accountants

Johannesburg

Position Summary:

Cost Accounting:

Setup and manage Bill of Materials (BOMs) for SFI.
Develop, implement, and maintain cost accounting systems and processes.
Analyze manufacturing costs including raw materials, labor, and overheads.
Calculate product costs and prepare cost estimates for both new and existing products.
Perform periodic inventory valuations and reconcile variances.
Conduct standard cost updates and evaluate profitability impacts.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

Prepare and monitor plant budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis reports.
Provide insights to support cost control and resource allocation.
Partner with operations teams to assess financial impacts of production changes.

Management Reporting:

Generate and analyze weekly, monthly, and quarterly management reports.
Present financial insights to plant leadership to support decision-making.
Prepare detailed profitability analysis by product, process, or department.

Financial Analysis and Performance Tracking:

Track plant performance metrics, such as efficiency, waste, and utilization.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend process improvements.
Perform break-even, margin, and ROI analysis for projects.

Compliance and Controls:

Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
Conduct internal audits and recommend corrective actions for discrepancies.
Maintain accurate documentation of cost and financial records.

Knowledge/Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (essential).
Professional certification (CIMA) is highly desirable.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.
Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Syspro (essential).
Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
