Hire Resolve's client is a seeking a Chief Learning Officer (CLO) who will serve as a strategic leader, driving the vision, strategy, and execution of learning and development programs across the company. This individual will work closely with the senior leadership team to foster a learning culture, enhance employee performance, and enable the organization to adapt to the evolving business landscape. The CLO will be responsible for overseeing talent development, leadership training, skills enhancement, and knowledge management, ensuring that the company remains at the forefront of innovation in cross-border trade and logistics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Learning Leadership:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive learning strategy aligned with the company's organizational goals and vision.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to identify skill gaps, training needs, and development priorities that support company growth and innovation.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning, encouraging employees to develop their skills and competencies in line with business objectives.
- Talent Development & Performance Management:
- Lead the design and implementation of leadership development programs to cultivate high-potential talent and build a robust leadership pipeline.
- Oversee performance management initiatives that integrate learning and development goals to drive employee performance.
- Implement talent retention strategies, including learning opportunities that encourage career progression and job satisfaction.
- Learning Innovation & Technology Integration:
- Leverage emerging learning technologies (e.g., Learning Management Systems, AI-driven learning tools) to enhance the learning experience for employees.
- Innovate the use of digital platforms to deliver flexible, on-demand learning solutions tailored to a geographically diverse workforce.
- Ensure that all learning programs are data-driven, measurable, and continuously optimized for impact.
- Organizational Knowledge Management:
- Design and manage systems for knowledge sharing across the organization, ensuring that valuable insights, best practices, and lessons learned are captured and disseminated effectively.
- Support the development of cross-functional communities of practice to enhance collaboration and innovation.
- Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in Learning:
- Champion DEI initiatives in learning and development to ensure programs are inclusive and accessible for all employees, fostering a diverse talent pool.
- Create learning environments that support a wide range of learning styles, backgrounds, and experiences.
- Measurement and Reporting:
- Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of learning programs and initiatives.
- Provide regular reports to the CEO and senior leadership on the impact of learning initiatives on business outcomes, employee performance, and engagement.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education:
- A Master’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or a related field. Additional certifications in learning and development or leadership coaching will be a plus.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in learning and development, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven track record of designing and implementing scalable learning strategies within high-growth, technology-driven organizations.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS), e-learning platforms, and emerging learning technologies.
- Strong understanding of organizational development, performance management, and talent management processes.
- Demonstrated ability to lead change management efforts and build a high-performance culture.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire, influence, and engage employees at all levels.
- Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong project management and organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Deep understanding of the African market, business practices, and cultural nuances is highly desirable.
