ENVIRONMENT:

A renowned digital hub in Cape Town is on the lookout for a Business Intelligence Analyst to design and maintain reports and dashboards using Google Looker Studio. The role involves tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and delivering valuable insights to stakeholders. Candidates should have demonstrated expertise in SQL, including querying, data manipulation, and aggregation, as well as practical experience in Google Looker Studio for creating reports, dashboards, and establishing data connections.

DUTIES:

Data Analysis and Visualisation:

• Develop and maintain reports and dashboards in Google Looker Studio to track key
• performance indicators (KPIs) and provide insights to stakeholders.
• Write and execute SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyse data from various sources.
• Collaborate with business users to understand their data needs and translate them into effective visualisations and reports.
• Ensure data accuracy and integrity in reports and dashboards.

Data Engineering Support:

• Assist the data engineer in the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines.
• Contribute to the development and documentation of data quality checks and validation procedures.
• Support the data engineer in troubleshooting data issues and identifying areas for improvement in data processes.

Database Management:

• Assist with database administration tasks, such as data modelling, performance tuning, and data security.
• Collaborate with the data engineer to ensure data governance and compliance with data privacy regulations.

REQUIREMENTS:

Essential:

• Proven experience with SQL, including querying, data manipulation, and data aggregation.
• Hands-on experience with Google Looker Studio (creating reports, dashboards, data connections).
• Strong understanding of relational databases and data warehousing concepts.
• Experience with data visualisation best practices and principles.

Desirable:

• Experience with data pipeline tools
• Knowledge of scripting languages like Python for data automation.
• Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Google Cloud Platform, AWS).
• Experience working in an agile development environment.
