Pumpkin Patch Foods is a fast growing food manufacturing company based in Stellenbosch. We are currently looking for an experienced accountant / finance professional to join our team.

Duties & Responsibilities

Compile, analyse and report on financial findings
Create ad-hoc reports for various business needs
Manage the company for sustainable profitability
Manage budgeting and forecasting
Monitor and manage product pricing
Full bookkeeping and accounting function up to trial balance, including debtors, creditors, bank, petty cash, journals, etc.
Performing bank reconciliations
Monthly journal entries
VAT calculations and VAT201 submissions
VAT reconciliations
Tax and provisional tax submissions
Maintenance of SARS accounts
IRP5 calculations, reconciliations, and submissions
PAYE/UIF/SDL calculations and EMP201 submissions
Liaison with customers on financial matters
Administrative duties

Required Skills

Accounting: 5 to 6 years
Financial Management: 5 to 6 years
Management Accounting: 5 to 6 years
Taxation: 5 to 6 years

Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate must have strong interpersonal skills, work well within a team, and possess strong business acumen. Past working experience in the FMCG industry would be advantageous.

Candidate Requirements:

BCom (Financial Accounting) or similar qualification
Professional qualification will be advantageous
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an accounting position
Working knowledge and experience with accounting software packages (Pastel Sage One)
Excellent communication skills
Motivated and driven
Excellent attention to detail
Works well in a team

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
Ability to interpret and analyze financial statements and periodicals
Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) and cloud services (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.)
