URBAN MOBILITY ● TRANSPORT PLANNING AND NETWORK MANAGEMENT 

HEAD: NON-MOTORISED TRANSPORT / ACTIVE MOBILITY

TCOE SALARY COMMENCING FROM R1,390,422  PER ANNUM ● UMO 72/24

Requirements:   

• A relevant BEng or BSc Engineering degree with specialisation in Transport Planning and engineering
• Eligibility for registration as Pr Eng
• Eight (8) years’ relevant experience in the field of Public Transport and NMT planning and concept design
• Proficient in MS Office Suite
• A valid driver’s licence. 

Key performance areas:  

• Lead and manage the Non-Motorised Transport / Active Mobility Section including its staff and finances
• Responsible for all deliverables and outputs of the section
• Manage, plan, lead, organise, and prepare the development, review and update of policies, strategies, plans, norms and standards, in accordance with the corporate policy process
• Prepare, and deliver concept and / or preliminary designs and reports for NMT / Active Mobility projects in accordance with best practice and all relevant standard guidelines
• Lead and initiate processes required for the appointment of Professional Service Providers
• Coordination of and participation in internal and external stakeholder engagements and communication
• Carry out all required administrative tasks to ensure the requirements and / or objectives of the City and the department are met
• Manage, administer and review contracts and projects to ensure that governance and management of contracts/ projects is in compliance with the Contract Management Framework (CMF) of the City.
