Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Developer to join their dynamic team in Cape Town. This remote position offers the exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies, lead automation initiatives, and integrate AI tools to drive innovation and enhance the platform’s functionality and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

API Development: Design, build, and enhance services on top of a Java banking API using Groovy scripting and web services, ensuring seamless data flow between systems.
Power Platform Integration: Develop and maintain workflows within Power Automate, enabling smooth integration between the banking API and Microsoft Power Platform.
Automation Enhancements: Utilize Azure Functions, Azure AI, and other Azure tools to drive automation improvements, streamline processes, and scale system capabilities.
AI Integration: Integrate and customize AI tools, such as ChatGPT and other AI plugins, to enhance platform functionality and improve user experience.
Front-end Development (optional): Use JavaScript to develop or improve front-end interface elements that enhance user interaction.
Collaboration & Documentation: Work closely with the development team to document processes, share insights, and contribute to a continuously evolving tech stack that supports platform scalability and functionality.
Technical Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or a related field (preferred)
- Proficiency in Java, Groovy scripting, and web services API
- Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, particularly Power Automate
- Familiarity with Azure services, including Azure AI and Azure Functions
- Experience with ChatGPT/AI plugins for integration
- Front-end development skills in JavaScript (optional but preferred)
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role
- Strong background in automation and API integration
- Prior experience working in a remote or distributed team environment
