KAMOA COPPER SA is looking for a Specialised Artisan, Mechanical and Fitting

The Kamoa Copper Mine is a joint venture between Ivanhoe Mines (39.6%), Zijin Mining Group (39.6%), Crystal River Global Limited (0.8%) and the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (20%). It's a very large, near-surface, flat-lying, stratiform copper deposit with adjacent prospective exploration areas within the Central African Copperbelt, at approximately 25 kilometers west of the town of Kolwezi and about 270 kilometers west of the provincial capital of Lubumbashi.

To maintain, service and repair mechanical components on Pumps and pumping systems to ensure their availability for mining operations. The incumbent tasks a small group of Assistants and the scope / portfolio of this role includes performing planned and preventative maintenance and attending to breakdowns.

You will have the following:
• Qualified Trade tested Diesel Mechanic or Fitter
• Must have completed relevant safety and risk assessment training and courses
• Must have at least 6 years’ experience as a post qualified trade tested artisan in the mining sector
• Must have at least 6 years’ experience working with pumping systems, slurry pumps and pump stations specifically Metso, Scamont and multistage pumps, in the mining sector.
• Proficiency in business English is mandatory. Knowledge of French, Swahili, and Mandarin will be considered highly advantageous.

Technical Skills should include:
• Must have experience on pumping systems, slurry pumps and pump stations specifically Metso, Scamont and multistage pumps.

Role specific Knowledge:

• Underground experience
• Understanding of mining methodologies
• Understanding of different roles (fitter, rigger, boilermaker) and how they work together.
• Must have experience on pumping systems, slurry pumps and pump stations specifically Metso, Scamont and multistage pumps, in the mining sector
