Hire Resolve's client, a consulting engineering company, is currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Resident Engineer to join their team on a one year long road construction project. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) to contribute to high-profile, challenging projects in a regulated and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Act as the Resident Engineer (RE) on road asphalt construction projects in a highly regulated airside operational environment.
• Oversee and ensure adherence to strict project timelines and safety standards, particularly during nightshift operations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality infrastructure solutions.
• Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements, including airport-specific protocols.
• Provide technical guidance, resolve site challenges, and liaise with stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met.
• Manage documentation, reporting, and communication to all relevant parties.

Requirements

• Professional Registration: ECSA-registered Technician, Technologist, or Engineer is mandatory.
• Experience: Minimum of 8–35 years of overall consulting engineering experience with at least 3 years post-ECSA registration.
• Project-Specific Expertise: Proven track record of acting as a Resident Engineer on at least three (3) road asphalt construction projects.
  • Prior experience working in restricted live operational environments (e.g., airports) is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects with higher risk and strict regulatory constraints, including nightshift operations.
• Technical Skills: Extensive expertise in high-level road construction and design.
