The purpose of this position is to provide assistance to beneficiary farms within the region.
The assistance includes social and health, promoting awareness, and building strong relationships.

Responsibilities include, but is not limited to:

Social/Health Support Service 

• Design and develop health promotion initiatives according to the needs of the community. 
• Promote healthy lifestyles within the broader community by providing individual or group health education.
• Build the capacity of clients to take care of their health, their families, and their communities.
• Conduct home visits.
• Report any concerns observed during home visits or health education.
• To link beneficiaries to resources when needed.

Administration 

• Maintain a record of all services provided - including participants, home, centre visits and referrals. 
• Comply with the POPI Act and guidelines regarding the confidentiality and security of personal information.
• Assist and support the fundraising team with visits and social media posts.
• Perform ad hoc relevant duties as assigned by the Health Service Manager and/or the Area Manager.

Requirements: 

• Background in Community Development or Community Health Work/Health Promotion and/or Life Skills
• Clear Criminal Record
• Minimum of 2 years experience in Health Promotion 
• Fluent in written and spoken Afrikaans and English
• A valid driving license and own liable transport
• Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse multi-disciplinary team
• Ability to work flexible hours when required
• Suitable to excellent computer literacy (Data capturing, Google Work suite and MS Suite)
• Good report-writing skills 
• Ability to network and willingness to travel
  

Working Hours:
Monday - Friday 08:00-14:00

Required to work on weekends when needed.
