Hire Resolve's client, a consulting engineering company, is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Materials Technician for a one year long road upgrade contract. This role is suited for ECSA professionally registered technicians, technologists, or engineers who have a proven track record in high-level road construction projects.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the lead for materials services on road asphalt construction projects.
• Ensure compliance with high standards of quality and safety, particularly in regulated and time-sensitive environments.
• Conduct material testing, inspections, and reporting in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.
• Collaborate closely with contractors, engineers, and project stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
• Oversee materials-related activities, including testing, quality control, and adherence to project timelines.

Requirements:

• Professional Registration: Must be professionally registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA).
• Experience:
  • A minimum of 8-35 years of consulting engineering experience.
  • At least 3 years post-professional registration experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership in materials services for a minimum of 3 road asphalt construction projects.
  • Experience in working on projects in restricted, live operational environments, such as airports, will be a significant advantage.
  • A proven track record of managing projects under stringent time constraints, including nightshift work.
• Technical Skills:
  • Extensive expertise in road construction and design.
  • Familiarity with airport construction standards and requirements is a strong plus.

Project Details:

• Duration: Approximately 1 year.
• Shift: Candidates must be prepared to work nightshift throughout the project duration.
