Hire Resolve's Client are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Quantity Surveyor to their team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will assist with the cost management, planning, and coordination of construction projects, ensuring they are delivered within budget and meet quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Cost Estimation and Budgeting:

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets for construction projects.
  • Assist in preparing bills of quantities, tenders, and cost plans.

• Project Documentation and Administration:

  • Assist in preparing and reviewing contracts and procurement documents.
  • Maintain records of project progress, variations, and adjustments.
  • Support the preparation of financial reports and valuations.

• Contract Management:

  • Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Support contract negotiations and ensure compliance with terms.

• Measurement and Valuation:

  • Perform site measurements and quantify materials.
  • Assist in valuing completed work and arranging payments.

• Risk and Cost Control:

  • Identify potential cost risks and recommend mitigation measures.
  • Monitor and report on project expenditures and variations.

Requirements

• Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or National Diploma in Quantity Surveying or related field.

• Experience:

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in construction or quantity surveying.
  • Familiarity with construction industry standards and practices.

• Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficiency in quantity surveying software (e.g., CCS Candy, BuildSmart) and MS Office Suite.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
