Role Overview:

As a Senior Water Design Engineer, you will lead water and sanitation projects, overseeing tasks like planning, design, tendering, and construction monitoring. You will also manage project administration and work with senior staff to resolve technical issues on large water projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set work schedules and productivity goals with the Project Manager.
• Confirm project appointments in writing.
• Prepare time and cost estimates for clients.
• Monitor project progress.
• Manage design work and deliverables.
• Write project reports, specifications, and correspondence.
• Ensure work meets quality and productivity standards.
• Attend client meetings and meet their requirements.
• Prepare project budgets, reports, and bids.
• Oversee construction to meet specifications and quality standards.
• Ensure accurate as-built records.
• Assist junior staff with professional registration.
• Review documents from junior staff.
• Manage project budgets with the Project Manager.
• Identify and secure new clients.
• Prepare and review technical documents and designs for water and wastewater systems.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

• Civil Engineering Degree (Essential)
• PrEng Registered (Essential)
• SCAPCMP Registration (Advantageous)

Experience:

• 15-20 years of experience in Bulk Water and Sanitation Infrastructure Design.
• Experience in both greenfield and brownfield projects.
• Familiar with GCC2015, SABS1200, and COLTO standards.
• Proficient in Civil Designer, Civil3D, and AutoCAD.
• Experience in preparing reports and presentations.
