We are seeking a highly experienced Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) Specialist to join our client in Johannesburg. As the Principal Environmental Specialist you will play a crucial role in leading and managing complex ESIA projects, ensuring compliance with international standards and local regulations.

Qualifications and Experience:

·        BSc degree in Environmental Science, Geography, Sociology, or related field

·        Master's degree or equivalent qualification (advantageous)

·        Professional registration with EAPASA (or equivalent)

·        15+ years of experience in ESIA and related fields

·        Proven experience in managing complex ESIA projects for international clients

·        Strong understanding of international standards (IFC, World Bank, etc.) and local regulations

Key Responsibilities:

·        Lead and manage multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality ESIA studies.

·        Conduct ESIA studies, including scoping, baseline assessments, impact prediction and mitigation, and stakeholder engagement.

·        Prepare and review technical reports, management plans, and other project documentation.

·        Ensure compliance with international standards, such as IFC Performance Standards, and local regulations.

·        Provide expert advice on environmental and social issues to clients and project teams.

·        Mentor and guide junior staff.
