Our client, a leading food manufacturing facility in the Western Cape, is seeking a highly skilled Electrician with fitting experience to join their Maintenance Department. Candidate Requirements
As an Electrician, you will be responsible for conducting electrical and mechanical fault-finding, working with 3-phase machinery, and programming VSDs. Your duties will include installing and maintaining electronic sensors, PLCs, 24-volt control circuits, and electronic interfaces such as pneumatics and hydraulics. You will perform breakdown and preventative maintenance on FMCG machinery, while also managing general building repair tasks like plumbing, painting, and servicing lights. Additionally, you will collaborate with external contractors, maintain accurate records, and ensure strict adherence to food safety rules and regulations.
To qualify, you must have a matric certificate and a relevant Red Seal Trade Test qualification and 3-5 years of post-trade experience. A strong knowledge of electronics, the ability to read electrical diagrams, and at least 2 years’ experience in FMCG machinery maintenance are essential. You should also be proficient in MS Office and willing to work shifts, stand-by, and call-outs.
