Seeking a Mechanical Engineer in Cape Town.

In this position, the Mechanical Engineer will provide specialist technical guidance and support for infrastructure projects and quality assurance on OHS related projects. The role also includes project managing, planning design and contract administration of water and wastewater treatments, bulk sewerage and water systems for this well-established organisation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform complex mechanical related engineering designs
Project leader or Design Engineer
Compile and review project / technical reports and data collection
Facilitate the procurement process for planned work
Accountable for quality standards, legal and contractual aspects and stakeholder relations for the project
Proficient in the use of civil engineering software, in particular Civil 3D, AutoCAD/ Revit, iDAS and project management software
Oversee HVAC system BIM modelling progress by the project team

Qualification and Experience:

Postgraduate Degree (NQF8) Bachelor of Science in Engineering, BTech Degree in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering
Minimum 8 years’ experience in HVAC, Fire, and Wet services and in the design and delivery of mechanical / chemical engineering projects of which 5 years is in managing large-scale projects
Proficient in the use of civil engineering software, in particular Revit and AutoCAD
Advanced project management skills
Engineering design and analysis
Knowledge of legal compliance
Lead teams on multi-disciplinary projects
