Description:
- Strategy Development: To develop the category strategy that is optimally aligned to market opportunities, the organisation’s vision and business objectives, and the needs of customers within the market/area it serves
- Merchandise Solutioning: To conceptualise, innovate, and operationalise merchandise solutions that drive continuous improvement of product, systems, processes, procedures, and best practice standards
- Financial Management: To develop budget, and effectively monitor and deliver on the financials of the division in such a way that it optimises profitability in terms of the category
- Stakeholder Relationships: To build an effective and professional relationship with all internal and external stakeholders to ensure that business objectives are achieved
- Customer Service: Ensure that customer complaints are dealt with in an effective manner and resolved. Promotions, advertising and all public relations must be co-ordinated for the store in order to enhance the Brand's market share in line with all company procedures
- Collaborative Thought Leadership: To provide inspirational thought leadership within the broader management team with a view of achieving optimal alignment of merchandise strategy and company strategy
- People Management: To lead, develop, motivate, and manage the performance of the team and ensure an optimally skilled, motivated, and high-performance team
- To uphold and promote the company values and culture
Requirements:
Grade 12
Relevant tertiary qualification with a Supply Chain Management and/or Finance and/or Business Administration focus (essential)
Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in a Category Management or related area of which at least 3 years in a senior leadership role (essential; Experience of having managed a merchandise or related department/division (essential); Experienced gained in a merchandise/procurement/sales environment (desirable)
