ENVIRONMENT:

A dynamic Retail and Consumer Finance Concern in Joburg seeks the expertise of a Data Scientist whose core role will entail utilizing data, Machine Learning, statistical and mathematical models to solve business problems and enable the effective use of data by utilizing cutting-edge technologies. The ideal candidate will require a minimum of 5 years work experience as a Data Analyst with SAS and/or Python, SQL, R and have experience with Data Architecture, Data Modelling and Data Pipelining. You must also preferably have working knowledge or experience with Data Management, Operations Analytics, Big Data and Artificial Intelligence.

DUTIES:

• Build data models to address business problems.
• Undertake and source data collection, pre-processing and analysis for the entire group.
• Present embedded analytics in data models to enable quick visualization.
• Ensure data governance and data quality assurance standards are upheld.
• Deal with customers in a customer centric manner.

REQUIREMENTS:

• At least 5+ years’ experience as a Data Analyst with SAS and or Python experience.
• Firm grip on analytics tools like SQL, R and Python.
• Working knowledge or experience in the fields of Data Management, Operations Analytics, Big Data and Artificial Intelligence is preferred.
• Project Management.
• Writing and Reporting.
• Data Architecture, Data Modelling and Data Pipelining.
• Solutions Architecture.
• Model Testing skills.
