The Group Finance Manager will play a key role in supporting our financial strategy, ensuring compliance, and leading transformation initiatives.

Job Purpose:

The Group Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the financial operations of the group, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, and driving financial transformation initiatives. This role will involve leading the automation of accounting processes, managing ERP-related projects, and ensuring the accurate preparation of financial statements and reports.

Key Responsibilities:

• Transformation and Automation Leadership: Lead the transformation of accounting processes and implement automation initiatives to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• ERP Project Oversight: Manage and execute all ERP-related projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timelines.
• IFRS16 Compliance: Serve as the IFRS16 lead for all group entities, ensuring accurate and timely compliance with the standard.
• Monthly Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation and submission of monthly financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal policies.
• Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Review and ensure the integrity of balance sheet reconciliations for the group.
• Annual Financial Statements (AFS): Oversee the preparation of AFS, ensuring compliance with IFRS and other relevant financial regulations.
• BEE Audit Support: Assist with BEE audit processes, including the completion of procurement details for all BEE companies.
• Audit Assistance: Support both internal and external auditors with audit requests and provide necessary documentation.
• Journal Review: Review and approve journals for selected companies within the group.
• Bank Payments: Authorize and release bank payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
• Tax Compliance: Ensure timely and accurate submission of tax returns and address any SARS queries.
• Statutory Compliance: Monitor and ensure adherence to statutory regulations and financial reporting standards.
• Ad hoc Projects: Contribute to and manage ad hoc financial projects and queries as required by the business.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Education: Matric (Grade 12)
• Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in an accounting position, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in ACCPAC
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS
  • Experience in preparing monthly financial reporting packages using Excel
  • Understanding of accounting controls and procedures
  • Familiarity with tax regulations and compliance
  • Knowledge and use of EFT systems
