Job Title: Credit ManagerIndustry: Commercial Asset FinanceMy client is seeking a skilled and strategic Credit Manager to join a leading provider of commercial asset finance, specializing in sectors such as transport, mining, and construction. In this role, you will lead the development and enhancement of credit models, scorecards, and analytics tools to optimize credit decisioning systems. You will be responsible for driving credit automation, granting credit within authorized mandate levels, and ensuring the placement of high-quality assets in line with responsible lending practices. The ideal candidate will be proactive in managing credit risk, developing tailored solutions for clients, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve credit model performance and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Credit Model Development & Enhancement: Lead the design and continuous improvement of credit models, scorecards, and analytics tools.
Credit Automation & Decisioning: Drive automation to streamline the credit evaluation and approval processes. Approve credit applications within mandate levels and implement responsible lending practices to minimize risk.
Risk Management: Assess and manage credit risk across new and existing client portfolios. Conduct thorough credit assessments to ensure the acquisition of high-quality assets.
Client-Centric Solutions: Understand client needs and provide tailored credit solutions to support financial goals. Maintain strong client relationships, offering proactive solutions within agreed turnaround times.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Sales, Credit Committee, Finance, and Operations teams to optimize credit models for performance and compliance.
Reporting & Analytics: Develop and maintain reports to track credit performance and risk metrics, presenting insights to senior management.
Compliance & Regulatory Adherence: Ensure all credit operations comply with internal policies and regulatory standards. Stay informed on industry trends and emerging best practices.
Team Leadership & Development: Mentor junior credit analysts and provide training to ensure high-quality credit assessments.

Skills and Experience:

Grade 12 (Matric) certificate.
NQF Level 7 or higher in a Financial or Banking-related field (essential).
CIMA, Credit Management qualification, or equivalent (advantageous).
2-5 years of experience in a credit management environment, preferably in commercial finance.
Experience in managing teams and fostering a collaborative, high-performance environment.
