Candidate Requirements

Key Responsibilities

·       Provide one-to-one counselling, and conduct group counselling sessions

·       Conduct assessments of all new program participants

·       Follow treatment plans with clients, and regularly review and revise plans on an ongoing and intentional basis

·       Run educational groups discussing issues

·       Provide emotional and physical well-being coping skills to patients

·       Chart the daily progress of patients

·       Complete all other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience

·       At least 1 year experience as a counsellor

·       Have worked with addiction patients

·       Registered Counsellor (HPCSA) – preferably (or studying for degree in psychology)

·       Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

·       High degree of empathy and emotional resilience

·       Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
