Our client in Bellville is seeking an experienced Mechanical Draughtsman with a strong background in sheet metal manufacturing and machine design to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 6-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly within sheet metal, and be proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD. Experience in creating full models, parts for laser cutting, machined parts, and developing BOMs and cutting lists for laser cutting is essential. Familiarity with AMADA bending machine software and programming is an advantage. Candidates must have completed the SolidWorks Professional Certification and have hands-on experience measuring parts and creating drawings. REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience using AutoCAD and SolidWorks software
• SolidWorks Professional Certification (completed course and certification required)
• 6-10 years' experience in a manufacturing environment, specifically in sheet metal
• Experience in Sheet Metal Manufacturing and machine design, including creating full models, parts for laser cutting, and machined parts
• Experience with creating BOMs and cutting lists for laser cutting
• Experience with AMADA bending machine software and programming (advantageous)
• Hands-on experience with measuring parts and creating drawings
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Must currently work on SolidWorks

 
 
DUTIES: 

• Update current drawings on Auto Cad and Solid Works.
• Do modelling of full assemblies, break assemblies down to single parts, and create bending drawing to accurate tolerances.
• Do Bakery Layout - Drawing to the specifications of the marketing director / manager / representative.
• Do machine drawings with all the specifications for the engineers to machine with tolerances.
• Update Cutting Lists for each Jon Number and assure that the quantities, material specifications and grain directions are correct.
• Do drawings for new designs and developments and improve current products to requirements from management.
• Make sure that documents are controlled and that revisions are updated on both the drawings and cutting list when changes take places. (NO Hard Drives, ST Cards or Flash drives are allowed to save drawings.)
• Only update drawings, cutting list and BOM’s on request from the Production Director and from a signed / approved ECP – Engineering Change Proposal Document.
• Assure that drawings and information are saved on the company server and not on the PC desktop to avoid any loss of information.
• Not allowed to override or copy over drawings, which can cause that a drawing is lost. (Save regularly to avoid loss of time when there is IT problems or Load Shedding.
• Assure that the company information is save and not allowed to take any drawings or information to home or out of the premises.
