Main Purpose: To be in charge of inventory in the warehouse or store.
Key Performance Areas:
- Perform daily tasks of receiving inventory, issuing inventory and the accurate recording of these transactions.
- Monitor stock levels and issue replenishing requisitions when needed with due consultation.
- Achieve high levels of customer service through excellence in receiving, identifying, dispatching and assuring quality of goods.
- Measure and report the effectiveness of storage location activities and/ or employees performance
- Organize and maintain inventory and storage area.
- Ensure accuracy of all inventory related transactions.
- Interface with internal customers to answer questions or solve problems.
- Monitor master data records and communicate change request to the Senior Management.
- Identify areas of improvement and establish innovative or adjust (in conjunction with Senior Management and QA Manager) existing work procedures and practices.
- Coordinate activities with other departments, i.e. Planning, Quality, Workshop, Field Services and Sales.
- With the use of the MRP module monitor stock levels in the storage locations and communicate corrective actions to procurement (i.e. to expedite orders).
- Authorise replenishment requisitions raised by MRP.
- Ensure daily cycle counts are done and communicate results to Senior Management.
- Acting as count co-ordinator for the yearly stock take.
- Control vehicles and Drivers:
- Managing / controlling the issuing of logbooks, fuel card and keys.
- Ensure vehicles are maintained as required.
- Ensure vehicles are properly licenced.
- Any other job related duties as requested from time to time.

Preferred Requirements:
- Grade12/N3 (with mathematics).
- Qualification in Inventory and Stores management / Warehouse Management / Logistics or related qualification.
- APICS / SAPICS qualification would be advantageous.
- 5 - 10 Years’ experience in an active warehouse/operational management capacity successfully managing employees.
- Experience in safety management.
- Experience in following and ensuring compliance to disciplinary procedures.
- Experience in using a Lathe and Milling Machine as well as drilling machines.
- Experience in dealing with complex, deadline-driven environments.
- Must be computer literate (ERP system).
