We are pleased to announce an open vacancy now exists in our Commercial Department for a qualified and experienced Network Analyst.
Based in Port Moresby, this position will report to the General Manager Commercial and will optimize the airline’s flight routes, schedules, and resource allocation in order to maximize profitability, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction. This role involves analyzing Market Demand, competition, aircraft utilization, and other factors to make strategic decisions regarding the airlines network.
The Network Analyst will be responsible for the following key responsibilities:
· Route Planning and Optimization: Determine which routes to operate, when to operate them, and with what frequency based on market demand, profitability, and competition.
· Fleet Management: Decide which aircraft to deploy on specific routes to ensure maximum efficiency in terms of fuel consumption, capacity, and operational costs.
· Scheduling: Coordinate flight schedules to minimize delays, optimize turnaround times, and ensure efficient use of resources such as aircraft and crew.
· Capacity Management: Adjust capacity on routes based on demand forecasts, ensuring the right balance between supply and demand to avoid underutilization or overbooking.
· Cost Efficiency: Identify opportunities to reduce operational costs by optimizing routes, minimizing layover times, and improving resource utilization.
· Customer Experience: Ensure the airline’s network and schedules align with customer preferences, such as offering convenient connections and maintaining on-time performance.
· Coordination with Alliances and Partners: Work with airline alliances or codeshare partners to expand the network and offer more destinations and seamless travel experiences for customers.
· Crisis Management: Adapt the network quickly in response to unexpected events such as weather disruptions, geopolitical issues, or sudden changes in travel demand.
· Pricing Strategies: develop and implement effective pricing strategies considering market conditions, competitor pricing, and demand patterns across all channels. Analyze pricing data to identify opportunities for adjustments and optimization across all channels. Execution of VRS fare filing and distribution of fares and fare changes. External fares filing in ATPCO and managing communication. Manage and file wholesale fares and communicate to agents. Maintain changes in taxes and surcharge strategy and application for carrier in line with market dynamics across all channels.
Candidate Requirements
· Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Aviation Management, or a related field.
· Some experience in the airline industry, preferably in roles related to Revenue Management, Pricing or Analytics.
· Advanced skills in data analysis and statistical modelling, using tools like Excel, or other relevant software.
