A beneficial career opportunity for a motivated and dedicated individual exists in the Waste department for a Shredder Operator (1), reporting directly to the Quality Assurance Manager. This position is based in Epping, Cape Town.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

To shred all the waste.

Summary of Key responsibilities include:

To shred all waste as directed

Ensure that all products shredded are free of any hazardous and dangerous materials

Ensure that the correct amount of waste is sent through the shredder at a time

Ensure that the shredder is in a good condition by doing regular checks

Report any breakdowns or machine malfunction to the Baler Operator

Ensures that all safety devices are in working order before operating the shredder

Ensure that the area around the shredder is clean and tidy

Ensure that personal protective equipment is always worn.

The ideal candidate should have:

Have Grade 12 with the ability to read and write English

Have 6 months experience

Have literacy and numerical skills

Be knowledgeable of all health and safety rules and practices relevant to the job.

Be able to work overtime, including week ends when required

From time to time, you will be required to do Ad-hoc work.
