Our client in the retail clothing sector, with head office in Durban, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Marketing Executive to join their executive team. This executive-level role requires a strategic thinker who is also ready to roll up their sleeves and dive into the details of their marketing initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the clothing retail industry and a proven track record of driving successful marketing campaigns. A key part of this role is ensuring that the store presentation meets industry standards while aligning with the company's values of providing value to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning:
- Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies that align with the company's business objectives and enhance brand positioning.
- Lead the planning, execution, and analysis of multi-channel marketing campaigns, including digital, print, and in-store promotions.
- Oversee the creation of compelling marketing content, including social media posts, email newsletters, blog articles, and promotional materials.
- Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to inform marketing strategies.
- Maintain and enhance the brand's image and voice across all marketing channels.
- Ensure that store presentation meets industry standards and effectively communicates the brand and product value to the customer.
- Focus on getting the basics right and making a positive statement about the brand, rather than creating the fanciest or most modern stores.
- Manage the marketing budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and monitoring ROI for all marketing activities.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including store operations, property, merchandising, and customer service, to ensure cohesive and effective marketing efforts.
- Utilize data analytics to measure campaign performance, generate insights, and adjust strategies as needed.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase customer engagement and loyalty through various marketing channels.
- Plan and execute promotional events, product launches, and in-store activities to drive traffic and sales.
- Manage the marketing teams including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
- Manage external marketing partners such as suppliers, advertising agencies, digital marketing firms and production companies.
- Brand Awareness & Sales Campaign: Plan and execute campaign [includes channel strategy]
- PR and Media Outreach: Engage in media relations and PR activities to generate positive brand exposure and media coverage.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a marketing role, preferably within the clothing retail industry.
Skills:
- Strong strategic planning and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, social media management tools, email marketing software).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to analyze data and derive actionable insights.
- Strong leadership and team collaboration skills.
- Hands-on approach with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
