- Preparing tenders for clients and commercial bids to help bring in new business
- Developing and presenting project proposals
- Ensure that contracts and proposals are properly entered into organizational databases and securely maintained.
- Meeting with clients to find out their requirements
- Producing plans and estimating budgets and timescales
- Discussing budgets and timescales with the clients
- Discussing, drafting, reviewing and negotiating the terms of business contracts
- Managing construction schedules and budgets
- Dealing with any unexpected costs
- Attending site meetings to monitor progress
- Acting as the main point of contract for clients, site and project managers
- Working with third parties to ensure that everyone understand their roles and responsibilities
- Making sure construction projects meet agreed technical standards
- Liaising with technical and financial staff, sub-contractors, legal teams and the client’s own representatives
- Overseeing invoicing at the end of a project
- Working on-site and in an office
- Weekly planning including meetings with site staff
- Assure accuracy and appropriateness of contract text and attachments.
- Constantly follow up on contracts in progress, potential new deals and renewals and provide support where necessary
- Set agenda for standardized work methods and improvement activities and manage resources within the same department.

Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (NQF Level 7) or higher degree;
- Experience in SANRAL Projects (Road Construction and/or RRM), with a maximum of 4 projects which have a construction value of R80 million or more (inclusive of VAT);
- Active professional registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa as a Professional Engineer or Professional Technologist/SACPCMP as a Construction Manager/ Construction Project Manager;
- An understanding of the construction industry and legal documentation;
- Experience of Pre-Qualification and Tendering process for a number of multi-discipline projects;
- Workforce Management Experience;
- Must have a valid Driver’s Licence and own vehicle.
