The Operations Manager at the National Chamber of Milling (NCM) is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational activities to ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of the organization. This role requires the planning, coordination, and execution of various operational processes, ensuring that they align with the Chamber's strategic objectives and industry norms. The Operations Manager must be influential in building positive relations with government and other stakeholders. He/she will collaborate very closely with different units, including finance, technical, and training, to ensure the optimal performance of the NCM.
Job Summary
• Ensure overall operational efficiency and support management
• Stakeholder engagement and representation
• Budgeting and financials oversight
• Staff management and leadership
• Report to Executive Director and provide regular feedback to the Board.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
• 5-7 years of experience in operations management, preferably in the milling industry or trade association setting.
• Knowledge of the milling industry or related food systems will be an added advantage.
Skills & Competencies:
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Analytical mindset with problem-solving capabilities.
• Knowledge of industry regulations, standards, and compliance in the milling sector.
• Proficiency in financial management, budgeting, and oversight.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Team player with strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
• Self-driven, energetic, confident, and dynamic personality
• Ability to pursue and put across matters of organizational importance and mandates.
• Strong organizational, analytical and project management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and operational management software.
