Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer
Brief Description of Job Purpose:
To manage the full bookkeeping function from source documentation to trial balance, ensuring accurate recording of all financial transactions and maintaining compliance with accounting practices, company policy, and legislation
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS ROLE:

MAIN ACTIVITIES OF THIS ROLE:
1. Financial Management:
Develop and maintain financial accounting processes and procedures • Implement and maintain sound internal controls • Oversee the management accounting and internal control processes and procedures • Identify financial accounting risks and develop and implement mitigating strategies • Attend to audit queries. • Assist with inter-group companies' accounting duties and assist with other duties as per management's request.
2. Budgeting:
Manage and control the annual planning and budgeting process • Interface and train users regularly regarding budget control and variance reports.
3. Financial Administration:
Prepare statutory returns (i.e. VAT, PAYE, SDL and UIF) • Verify the General Ledger, accruals and control accounts • Review local reconciliations before payments can be made • Review Creditors monthly/ creditors’ day • Load payments • Prepare journal file and financial month-end pack • Review alignment of contractual payment conditions with budgets and forecasts • Manage cost control workflow and update cashflow • Ensure that work measurements are correctly accrued and accredited • Fixed asset management including managing the depreciation and amortization schedules and journals.
4. Financial Reporting:
Report on variances between budgets, commitments and expenditure • Long-term loan account management and reporting responsibilities.
5. Leadership:
Manage the designated area within time and budget • Identify and timeously address problems and opportunities • Provide direction in respect of decision making • Facilitate and resolve conflicting issues or requirements. • Communication and engagement with all business departments and levels

Candidate Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCIES:Qualifications:
Grade 12 + Degree in Accounting or equivalent qualification, i.e. (B Com Accounting / Financial Management/ Management Accounting)
Experience:
Five years of relevant financial accounting experience with experience in bookkeeping up to Trail Balance
Knowledge and Competencies:
Working knowledge with relevant legislation (e.g., IFRS, FICA, GAAP)
Understanding and experience of budgeting and financial accounting processes
Proficiency in various accounting systems, preferably Pastel Evolution
Advanced Excel skills
Excellent written and verbal communication
Self-motivated with strong drive and energy
Analytical and methodical thinker
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities

Strong organizational skills
Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
