Purpose:
The Internal Sales Representative is responsible for managing inbound customer enquiries, providing quotations, processing sales orders and assisting with sales-related administrative duties. The role is a key part of the sales department, supporting the external sales team and ensuring that customer needs are met efficiently and effectively. The Internal Sales Representative will focus on driving sales of the company's equipment (industrial equipment, construction, and material handling equipment), while also fostering strong customer relationships and providing excellent customer service
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Relationship Management:
Handle incoming calls and enquiries from customers, providing them with product information and pricing details.
Proactively reach out to existing customers to follow up on quotes, product offers, and sales opportunities.
Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with customers, ensuring repeat business and customer loyalty.
Act as the primary point of contact for customers who require, technical or product assistance and direct queries to the relevant departments when necessary.
Manage and update customer details and interactions in Syrinx
Sales:
Achieve monthly and annual sales targets.
Contribute to achieving overall divisional sales growth targets.
Identify and generate new sales opportunities through prospecting, and cold calling
Ensure that all sales leads and enquiries are processed in a timely manner.
Prepare and provide accurate quotations to customers based on their requirements and follow up on all open quotes to close deals.
Process sales orders, ensuring all information is accurate and orders are placed on time.
Make customer appointments for External Sales Representatives
Collaborate closely with the external sales team to ensure all customer requirements are met.
Coordinate with the Service Department to ensure that equipment deliveries are completed on time and in line with customer expectations.
Follow up with customers after the sale to ensure they are satisfied with the products and service received.
Drive sales of services, load tests and spare parts.
Assist in the preparation of tender documents and support in the coordination of tender submissions.
Work closely with the external sales team to share information, coordinate sales activities and ensure smooth operations within the department.
Participate in sales meetings and contribute to team discussions about strategy, customer feedback and performance goals.
Assist in the organisation of customer events, product demonstrations, and exhibitions
Product Knowledge:
Maintain an in-depth understanding of the company's product ranges (industrial equipment, construction, and material handling equipment), as well as any other products the company sells.
Stay up to date on new product developments and competitive offerings.
Provide customers with accurate technical information about the products and advise them on suitable product options based on their needs
Administration:
Maintain accurate records of all sales, quotes, and customer interactions in the CRM system.
Assist in preparing sales reports and tracking sales targets.
Manage and update sales documentation and filing systems.
Process customer credit applications in collaboration with the finance department.
Handle internal communications regarding stock levels, order status, and customer concerns.
Assist the Sales Coordinator to manage stock levels and check product availability for customer orders
Health/Safety/Environment/Quality:
Drive competency training with customers and ensure that the risks of using non-competent operators is communicated to them
Understand the risks associated with MEWPs
Report all safety deviations in area of work, identify and report potential hazards in area of work
Ensure that all incidents are reported to your Manager as soon as it occurs but no later than the end of the shift
Ensure that any unsafe condition is reported to your manager
Discipline:
Conduct business ethically
Carry out all reasonable instructions given to you
Maintain appropriate discipline at all times
Promote and follow company policies and procedures
Do not bring the company into disrepute
Good timekeeping

Candidate Requirements
Qualifications and Experience:Grade 12 Certificate
Previous experience in internal sales, customer service, or a similar role, preferably in the industrial equipment, construction, or material handling sector.
Knowledge:
A basic understanding of access, lifting & handling equipment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
