A metals and minerals organization in Johannesburg North is seeking an experienced Senior Risk Analyst.

The company in question is a global commodity trading and mining conglomerate, deeply involved in the extraction, processing, and marketing of natural resources such as metals, minerals, and energy products. It operates across numerous countries and plays a significant role in the supply chains of industries like automotive, energy, and infrastructure.
 
The job purpose of a Senior Risk Analyst in Oil Market Risk typically revolves around managing and mitigating the financial, operational, and market risks associated with the trading, pricing, and investment activities in the oil and energy sectors.

Some of the key responsibilities and objectives are:

• Direct managerial responsibility for a team of 3-5 junior risk analysts
• Calculating and running risk reports including P&L
• Communicating results effectively with traders and management

 
Job Experience & Skills Required:

• Completed BCom in Economics/Finance
• 3-5 years relevant experience
• Oil and gas commodity experience beneficial
• Coding skills in VBA/Python advantageous
