Job Title: Safety Officer

Location:

Limpopo, Greater Sekhukhune District, Burgersfort

Job Type:

24 Month Contract, expected to work full-time hours

Job Duties:

• Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with health and safety standards
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions
• Provide safety training to employees on various safety topics including hazard identification and control measures
• Collaborate with management to develop emergency response plans and procedures
• Maintain safety records and reports

Required Qualifications:

• SAMTRAC
• COMSOC1&2
• Registration with the South African Council for Project and Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP) as a Health and Safety Officer or Professional
• Proven experience working as a Safety Officer in a mining environment
• Knowledge of health and safety legislation and regulations
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Experience:

• 10+ years in a safety role, with a minimum of 5 years dedicated to mining or similar high-risk industry

Knowledge and Skills:

• Understanding of risk assessment and management
• Proficiency in MS Office suite
• Excellent problem-solving abilities
